Scott Carey

LPC, NCC, CADC & Co-Owner

About me

I have 16 years of experience in treating clients struggling with various substance use disorders as well as associated co-occurring disorders including but not limited to anxiety and depression. I have experience in treating grief and loss through the use of the Kubler-Ross Model also known as The Five Stages of Grief. Determining treatment goals is considered to be a collaborative effort, always fostering the right to control the direction of one's life. My experience also includes assisting families and loved ones of those who are struggling through education, information, understanding and compassion.

My practice is designed to assist clients on their journey to find practical solutions to struggles they are facing through the use of techniques grounded in evidenced based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy where clients could expect my role to be that of a teacher and a partner on a journey of discovery, introspection and self actualization.

Throughout the client experience I believe it is imperative that I as your counselor demonstrate the 3 necessary conditions of Carl Jung's person centered therapy: empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard.
