Life can be a wild ride, and I'm here to help you find your way through it. I believe in the power of emotional enlightenment, including embracing the idea that two perspectives can be true about the same topic. Life's not always black and white, and that's perfectly okay. Let's tackle the comparison game together and start having compassion for yourself. I'm here to help you become more satisfied with who you are, flaws and all. Because guess what? Those quirks you see as weaknesses might just be your greatest strengths in disguise.
With over 10 years experience in the mental health field, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor & I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am born & raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to PA in 2016.
I also come from a Hispanic background (YES! I speak Spanish) & have experienced a very culturally diverse upbringing which has allowed me to be empathetic towards poeple whom may feel “different”. So take a deep breath and rest assured that you are taking steps in the right direction and hope that we can make it through this journey together. Hope to hear from you!
Your pain deserves space to breathe and be heard. Your authentic self deserves tending to. Being human is hard work. In the limited time we exist, we have countless choices to make as we shape the direction and purpose of our lives. In our struggles, perhaps we may feel phony, unsure of ourself, pressured to hide or distort our feelings and thoughts. We may feel paralyzed when trying to make the “right” decisions. We may feel deeply isolated, unable to sustain relationships where we are cherished exactly as we are. We may be haunted by past traumas and unable to forgive. Or we may wonder about our life's meaning.
Counseling is a way to explore these and other concerns that are part of being alive. As a humanistic counselor, I am here to hold space for your pain and the story of who you are, and help you make meaning of your experiences. I can offer you a safe and confidential sanctuary where you can express yourself freely, without judgment or criticism.
Not feeling heard? I am here to listen. I want to hear you. Feeling stuck? I am here to facilitate change. I want to help and encourage new patterns. Feeling hopeless? I am here to instill hope. I want to work with you to renew excitement about the present and future. Feeling alone? I am here to support you. I want to build up your support system. Bottom line? I'm here for you, and I want to be.
I have worked with clients of all ages on issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, and more. I have high amount of experience working with teens/emerging adults. I typically take a strengths-based approach but will tailor each counseling experience to you and where you are at and where you want to go. Ultimately, I am here to support and listen, as I believe you already have all the inner strengths necessary to move forward with life in a productive, healthy way.
Our busy lives can have unexpected changes that send us into challenging mindsets. Sometimes out friends, family, or partners just don't get what we're going through, and it can be difficult to even get out of bed in the morning. The voice in our head might tell us that we're not good enough, that it's not worth talking about what pains us deeply. You ARE worth challenging that voice in your head, and it is worth is to heal from our past to ensure our present and future are prosperous.
I specialize in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I work with my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, their past experiences to unravel the challenges they had previously, and currently struggle with.
If this resonates with you, I'd be honored to walk with you on your journey!
Life can feel hard sometimes. It is easy to slip into auto-pilot and feel helpless. I utilize CBT, DBT, and person-centered approaches to help clients be more present in their own lives. I am available to work with clients experiencing a wide range of life's challenges including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, divorce, trauma, and grief. When you are ready to take the next step to re-engage in your life, I'd be honored to work with you.
Our roads in this life are never perfect. We will all experience bumps, roadblocks, and detours we did not plan for. Sometimes it is a life event, loss, or a new diagnosis that rattles our sense of reality. I have worked with individuals experiencing difficulty managing stress, anxiety, depression, following injury or diagnosis of disability. I hope to connect with individuals in identifying stressors and developing solutions in order live a life of fulfillment and purpose. I look forward to walking the journey with you.
The role of counselors is to ensure clients feel heard, respected, and validated and, in turn offer supportive and constructive feedback to help individuals gain greater insight and understanding. I have had the opportunity to experience and work with people from diverse and dynamic backgrounds which has helped me learn and adopt an approach that openly supports growth and learning. I use a mix of compassionate techniques and problem solving strategies to aid individuals in problem resolution and management of their difficulties. This enables and empowers the individual to take charge of things and have control and direction in their lifestyle.
Life can be rough and its easy to get into a place where one may feel overwhelmed or stuck. Its hard to find solutions, make decisions, or find a path out and it's often helpful to talk to a genuine and supportive person that can help to untangle all the things that race through one's mind when we are in a tough spot.
Based on this, my therapeutic approach to counseling is to connect with individuals on a genuine and deep emotional and cognitive level. Accomplishing this rapport enables the person to gain improved insight and awareness on personal struggles, self identity, and individual strengths which helps them obtain a level of personal wellness.
Let me be that person that can help you through these rough spots. Feel free to reach out to me and let's see if we can help you get to a better place and reduce all that inner tension you feel inside.
I have a depth of experience years of experience in treating clients with a variety of struggles. My practice is designed to assist clients on their journey to find practical solutions to struggles they are facing through the use of techniques grounded in evidenced based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy where clients could expect my role to be that of a teacher and a partner on a journey of discovery, introspection and self actualization.Throughout the client experience I believe it is imperative that I as your counselor demonstrate the 3 necessary conditions of Carl Jung's person centered therapy: empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard.
